A Christmas CD that rings out with the voices of a children's choir can be a fabulous album to own, provided the featured singers can actually sing and that the recording is done professionally.
Unfortunately, if you cannot preview albums, sometimes buying a good children's choir Christmas CD can be hit or miss. Here are some selections that will not disappoint.
Frosty the Snowman by the International Children's Choir
This album quite possibly is the stand-out of all children's choir albums. With professional quality that pours out heartfelt emotion, this CD is perfect for families. The Christmas album contains a total of 16 wonderful songs. Of those songs, 6 focus on the secular celebration of Christmas (Santa, Frosty, etc.). A few selections also feature an adult on lead vocals with the kids singing as back-up.
However, a majority of the songs have the focus on the children. Accompaniment is also of high standards, featuring either the Holly Players Orchestra or the Bobby Clifton Orchestra.
Children Sing for Children: 25 Christmas Songs
This children's album under the Unite Multi Media label is packed with traditional songs that the whole family will lovely. The children enunciate clearly and are accompanied by piano only, making it easier for children to pick up the lyrics and sing along.
A few selections are sung by adult singers with a wider range of accompaniment instruments. With a total of 25 of some of the most common Christmas carols, this album builds your Christmas library with a well-known base of holiday music.
This Joy: MSU Children's Choir in Concert
If you are looking for a selection of songs of which you may not be as familiar, then consider the Michigan's State University's Children's Choir performance "This Joy". Though not all songs are Christmas related, the CD offers a great mix of holiday songs and traditional children's tunes. This formal choir of young children and youth did an outstanding job and mostly were accompanied by piano or piano and flute.
The Vienna Boy's Choir
No children's choir list could be complete without mentioning the famous Vienna Boy's Choir. With a reputation of excellence, any of their several Christmas CDs are sure to give you goosebumps. Depending for what you are looking, the Vienna Boy's Choir has released albums that feature traditional Christmas carols, professional pieces like Handel's Messiah, and have often paired with renowned performers like Placido Domingo.
