Jennifer White - Jennifer White

Jennifer White has authored parenting books and has worked in childcare and education fields for over 15 years. She now focuses much of her energy on raising her two energetic daughters, participating in child-related community service projects, and expressing her views on parenting as a freelance writer.

Experience:

Jennifer's experience includes:

• Collaborating with other parents to facilitate a weekly community playgroup that services a large group of families throughout Metrowest Massachusetts.
• Presenting lectures on the growth and development of children to parents and undergraduate education students.
• Authoring parenting books including: Dad's Teach Your Child About Manners and A Primer for Fathers - What to Expect During Pregnancy and Baby's First Year.
• Freelance writing for such publications as BayStateParent.
• Writing as the Baby's First Year Guide at About.com.
• Teaching first and second grades in a public school.
• Counseling parents, teachers, and children facing academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges.

Education:

Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Millersville University and a Master's in Education from Penn State University. Additionally, she has taken multiple workshops under the topics of breastfeeding, child development, children's nutrition, parenting, play therapy, prepared childbirth, hypnobirthing, and children's grief counseling.

From Jennifer White:

I tend to write about topics that reflect my passions - women and children's interests, nutrition, breastfeeding advocacy, Christian studies, and genealogy. However, I have been known to delve into other topics that strike my fancy as well. In my (somewhat limited) spare time, I might be found tromping through cemeteries pulling my children along in a Radio Flyer Wagon. I volunteers my services as a cemetery transcriptionist and photographer as I seek to preserve histories of common everyday people.
